About Me

MARGARET LEE is an NYC-based director/choreographer. Recent: Scarlet Night (Virgin Voyages' signature show), 3 world premieres in collaboration with the Moxie Arts Virtual Commission, Eschaton (Chorus Productions), From A To Double D by Mandy Murphy (IRT Theater), The Golden Spike by Don Nguyen & The Lobbyists (BRIC House Artist Studio). Her work has been seen at The Old Globe, Ma-Yi, 2G, The Flea, Access Theater, and The Shakespeare Forum. She has been fortunate to assist Kathleen Marshall, David Mendizabal, Ellie Heyman, and Victor Malana Maog at theatres such as MCC Theater, NYSAF, Long Wharf Theatre, and The Old Globe.


While serving as Artistic Director of Chicago troupe 33rd Street Productions, she focused on fostering cross-disciplinary creativity with artists primarily in STEM, in addition to helming productions of Ordinary Days by Adam Gwon, Venus in Fur by David Ives, and Company by Stephen Sondheim. Margaret is a Drama League Directors Project Fellow alumna, a Roundabout Directors Group Cohort member, a Black Girl Theatre Magic Director’s Circle member, and SDC Associate Member.
